Seminar on AYUSHMAN BHARAT, GENERIC MEDICINE and CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
A seminar on“Ayushman Bharat, Generic Drugs and Career opportunities in Healthcare & Pharmaceutical development Sector” was conducted in Anand College of Pharmacy, SG, Agra on 10th February 2020, at 2:30 am , Friday by guest speaker Dr. Saurabh kumar Banerjee (Asso. Prof., IIHMR University, Jaipur-earlier known as Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur, World Health Organization’s Collaborating Centre).
Dr. Saurabh banerjee spoke on Ayushman Bharat Yojna and how it will lay down an ambitious framework for Universal Health Coverage by giving assured affordable and quality health cover to poor people in India and the national health protection scheme covering primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare. In the last one year, Government has been emphasizing on the affordability and quality of pharmaceuticals in the country, especially after Prime Minister Modi’s announcement last April on making generic drugs mandatory. Doctors were also mandated to prescribe only generic medicines in the essential drug list for patients receiving treatment there. Generic medicines are equally safe and effective as compare to Branded drugs as per the World Health Organization.
Students were informed about the ample opportunities made available by Govt. of India recently under this Ayushman bharat or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY), Govt. sector as Strategic Alliance Management Services Pvt Ltd (SAMS) is Specialist in Recruiting students to India’s Public Health, Development and CSR Sectors. All students and staff participants found the information very useful.
Dr. K. J. Gohil (Dean, Anand College of Pharmacy) presented memento to the guest speaker as a token of appreciation and informed students further about update on generic medicine and upcoming recruitment in Government sector for Pharmacy students.
Dr. Rekha T.Rajput (Asso. Prof., Pharmacognosgy), Dr. Monika Singh (Asso. Prof., Pharmaceutical Chemistry) and Mr. Gurvinder Pal Singh (Asst. Prof., Pharmaceutical Chemistry) were the coordinators of the event. Dr. Monika Singh hosted the event and Dr. Rekha T. Rajput delivered vote of thanks.
All meritorious students (B.Pharm and D. Pharm) and AKTU Zonal fest 2020 winners were also felicitated, by cheque from Anand College of Pharmacy, SGI, at the end of the event .
